Spent a few days in Las Vegas doing ministry and sharing about the Healing Station. Had lunch with the Prayer Team and their pastor and his wife. They call them the Pastor and the First Lady. They were all precious saints. We connected immediately. Same Spirit! (Our lunch was at the Golden Nugget) Very interesting place... They have a Gold Nugget in the lobby about 18" tall and weighing 61 lbs.
The sign under this huge gold nugget "The Hand of Faith Nugget".

Check out the real story at this link.
Well back to the real purpose of my trip to Vegas. It is easy to get distracted by shiny objects in this town. I have been there before and have always felt such a darkness. However, this trip was very different. Maybe I was different. I went with more love in my heart and with a great expectation.
I have been friends with Doc K for several years. He came to Fort Worth a few years ago to visit our Healing Station. We spent several hours together on that visit and discussed healing ministry.
We continued to visit by phone and e-mail over these years. Discussing God's promises and sharing testimony of what He is doing in our lives and in the ministries that we have been called for.
To date, this little church has a prayer team in place. They are a faithful team and they meet and pray together weekly and sometime daily. They are available to pray for the members of their church on Sunday and they go to members who are in need when they have the opportunity. They have been praying for their pastor to give them permission to have a Healing Room for three years.
Last night in conversation with Doc -- God revealed to me again that "We ask for things and we have "our" idea of what those things look like." They have been asking for a "Healing Room". They have their idea of what the room should look like. Where it should be and the days it should be open. We are so funny -- don't you know that our Father just smiles when we get these big ideas. We get so caught up in "Our Plan" that we miss "His Plan" as it unfolds right before our very eyes.
There they are in Las Vegas. They have a faithful group of fervent prayer warriors. These warriors are available for the battle at a moments notice. They have a phone system in place that is state of the art amazing. They continue to study and grow in God's Word. They encourage each other daily.
Why do they struggle with the discouragement of "Not having a Room" which is "Their Plan".
I prayed with Doc about this focus problem but I am not sure he was able to see a bigger picture.
If we could just get our head around the fact that "being available" to God's greater plan for us -- things would be so much simpler. Less stress - Less anxious - Less worry. This could only make us a better Vessel for His work. Isn't that really what we want? To be His Vessel. God has us in this place, right here, right now -- If we can't rejoice in this place then why would He promote us to the next level. This doesn't mean that we have to be satisfied with staying where we are -- we should always be moving toward a better relationship with HIM. The Word says Rejoice.
Deuteronomy 12:7 There, in the presence of the LORD your God, you and your families shall eat and shall rejoice in everything you have put your hand to, because the LORD your God has blessed you.
Deuteronomy 16:11 And rejoice before the LORD your God at the place he will choose as a dwelling for his Name—
Phil. 4: 4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
When we were planning my time in Vegas, Doc asked me about street ministry. I was so excited!!
Las Vegas -- what a perfect place to minister "on the street". Of course, On the Street doesn't always mean standing on the Corner and Preaching the Gospel. Being available to share God's Love at the spur of the moment in a McDonald's.. or a Denny's. Keeping your eyes and heart opened and seeing people thru the eyes of Jesus. He loves them ALL. No matter how dirty or homeless or broke or downtrodden.. (that is an interesting word). What brought that person to Vegas? Hopes of being rich.
Like the settlers crossing the United States -- looking for Gold. This may seem like I am getting off the subject at hand, however, I thought about those settlers a lot as I drove the 300 miles from Las Vegas to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. What did the settlers think when they came up on the edge of this vast canyon? Were they discouraged? Did they think about giving up? I am so glad God chose to let me be born in this century. We are blessed with such an easy life. Oh, we may think we have a lot of problems -- but stand at the edge of the Grand Canyon and consider your problems again.
What an amazing time of refection. Standing here at the edge of this Vast Canyon I am reminded that God's plan for us is so planned out. Hello!! The same God that created this Canyon has me in the palm of His hand and I Rejoice in that. He took me to Las Vegas for a purpose. He has let me pray for and speak into the lives of Doc and his prayer team for years. I get it!!
I know this is a lot of words -- but this was an important trip and God showed up and changed hearts and minds. During the special lunch meeting, I had opportunity to answer some questions that Pastor had regarding the Healing Room. I shared with him that everyone who came to the Food Pantry for prayer received a healing. He looked at me like I was certainly not saying what he was hearing.
I went on to explain that the healing might not have been a cancer cure, a job opportunity, a repaired car, a place to live, a healed heart condition or other heath issues.... The immediate healing that they received was a spiritual heart condition. They may have still had cancer but they had Hope! They had a new understanding of the Father's Love. They knew that He wanted them Healed and Healthy.
But most of all that He Love them. We are His vessels. His Love Vessels. Filled to the brim and ready to pour out His amazing love on everyone He brings into our path. A tangible touch from the Father.
How long has it been? How long have they been downtrodden? We are the lifters of their head.
Psalm 24:6-8, Psalm 145: 13-15, 1 Peter 5:5-7
The Pastor was not sure that he understood but he was open to more discussion. He was also willing to be part of the ministry team for an afternoon appointment with a young woman named Sonya.
Sonya is 42 years old and she has a birth defect that caused her left hand to be withered and deformed.
We were prepared for the ministry. We had prayed together and we were going to pray for her hand to be restored, healed and whole. We all had our plan and belief of what God was going to do.
We arrived and started to pray for this young woman. We were holding her withered hand and praying for God to heal her. All of a sudden she started to squeal!! She was touching her withered hand and saying, "I can Feel!!!". We didn't know that she had no feeling in that hand and forearm. She could feel us holding her hand.
She was so Excited. We were giving God all the Glory!! Sonya was sharing with us that God knew the desires of her heart. She had been asking Him to give her feeling in that hand. She wasn't asking Him to heal it -- she just wanted feeling. She wanted to feel the cheek of her son.
God had answered "her" prayer. He knew her hearts desire. We were the vessel of His Love.
It was a pretty amazing afternoon. The Pastor stepped over to me and said, "OK, i get it."
The next morning Pastor shared this amazing healing experience with the entire church. He told them that this ministry time had been for him. That God wanted to give him a new understanding of what Healing Really meant. He told the church that there would be some changes made in their way of ministering. And that his Belief had been Increased.
God is Good!! All the Time!!
